Shower walls are a very important area that needs to be prepped in the right way or it
can lead to mold growth and rotting.  Never use sheetrock, always use a cementboard
or backerboard.  Here is the installation method:

1.  Clean studs of any screws, nails or other debris.
2.  Cut cementboard to fit allowing the ends to land on a stud.
3.  Secure cementboard using 1 1/4'' to 1 1/2'' cementboard screws or galvanized
     roofing nails.
4.  Tape all seams using 2'' fiberglass mesh tape.
5.  Fill seams with thin-set using the flat side of the trowel.
6.  Caulk between tile substrate and fiberglass shower pans or bathtubs with 100%
     silicone caulking.
7.  Determine layout and patterns.
8.  Install tile using latex modified thin-set with a 1/4'' square notched trowel or larger.
9.  Grout after 24 hours.
10.Seal all grout after 72 hours.
